June R. Lazarski, 85, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2018. Born in Bridgman, MI on May 23, 1932, she resided in Orlando for more than 60 years. She retired in 1994 after 26 years as Executive Secretary at Florida Hospital East and Orlando General Hospital. She was a charter member of the Florida Hospital Executive Secretaries Association and served as President from 1985-86. She also worked as an election official for the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.
She greatly enjoyed travelling with her husband Tony, who passed away on August 23, 2005. They celebrated their 50th anniversary and repeated their wedding vows in St. James Catholic Cathedral, before the same altar where they were married on May 28, 1955. She was active in the church at St. James and served together with her husband as an usher for the 10:30 Mass. She regularly attended gatherings of the St. James Prime Timers and Florida Hospital retirees.
June is survived by her sons Robert A. (Anne), Steven R. (Sharon), and granddaughter Ashley. Her extended family includes Eric and Jacqueline Reece and their children Jacey and Jansen. Other survivors include her sister-in-law Nancy Bentsen; sister-in-law Mary Lou Kelly and husband Donald; nephew Daniel Kelly (father of Sara and Dillon); nephew Michael Kelly (husband of Susan and father of Max, Michaela, and Jack); nephew Thomas Blady; niece Michelle Lazarski; nephew Bruce Bentsen (husband of Cindi); and nephew Brian Bentsen (father of Kristen and Hannah).
A Memorial Mass will be held at 3PM on Friday, January 19, in St. James Catholic Cathedral, 215 N. Orange Avenue, Orlando, FL 32801 (phone 407-422-2005). Inurnment will be at a later date in the Victorian Columbarium at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive, Winter Park, FL 32789.
