Karen Elaine Gerhardt, age 59, of Longwood, Florida passed away on August 22, 2019. She was born April 11, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Karen was the kindest person and most amazing influential sister.
She brilliantly made up an Army platoon while babysitting us. She was Colonel KEG. Jimmy was Sergeant JAG and Sue and Nan were Private's SLG and NAG. She used the game to get us to clean, march us to the library ( and win the summer reading program) and motivate us to eat our dinner.
She would make cookies for us and promise we could lick the beaters and the bowl...only after she scraped it clean.
Karen studied for hours every night. She was so smart and creative. She was offered both art and academic scholarships. She was an amazing artist and could sew anything without a pattern.
We all thought she was prettier than Marsha Brady too.
She is survived by her treasured son Benjamin William Gerhardt; father Frederick A. Seddon, Jr.; siblings Lisa G. Sessions, James A. Gerhardt (Jerilyn), Susan L. Rippe, Amber F. Seddon, Nancy A. Smith, Aaron Seddon (Tricia), and her favorite brother, William J. Seddon; aunt Anne Light; several nieces and nephews; her beloved canine companion Willie Napoleon; and many friends, all who will miss her greatly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie Lee Seddon, who passed away on August 2, 2019.
A celebration of life will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, & Receptions - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, FL 32750. Karen's family will have a private Celebration of Life in Indianapolis to honor her memory.
