Kathleen Ann Giordano-Lanza

February 1, 1943 — January 2, 2017

Kathleen Ann Giordano-Lanza, 73, of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 2, 2017 due to complications and the treatment of breast cancer. She was born in Fremont, Nebraska on February 1, 1943 to the late Carl and Rebecca Bade (Lahmann).

As a young adult Kathleen moved to Waterbury, Connecticut were she raised 3 children as a single mother and remained most of her life until retirement. Kathleen retired from St. Mary's Hospital after a 30 year career where she held many positions such as switchboard operator, courier, housekeeping, and laundry department. After retirement Kathleen moved to Orlando Florida to live with her daughter Rebecca, her son-in-law Al Sanchez, who was like a son to her and has helped her whenever he possibly could and her two grandchildren Alyssa and Christopher. She is survived by her Daughters Rebecca Bade, Jannette Tillotson; Son Michael Giordano-Lanza; Granddaughters Jessicca Tillotson, Ashley Bennett, Mikkaylia Tillotson, Alyssa Rivera, Erika Aguilar, Yaillie Aguilar; Grandsons Christopher Sanchez, Brian Aguilar; and her 5 brothers and other family members.

Kathleen will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She truly valued the gift of life and taught us the importance of hard work and a strong family unit. She grew up on a farm where she had chickens, horses, corn fields and many chores to do before walking to school. Kathleen was very strong and independent person and has pasted that on to her children. This could be because she had only brothers she grew up with. She was a little rough around the edges but was always there when we needed her. She always enjoyed reading, sewing, and card games with her daughter and grandkids. She also like to collect things that maybe shouldn't have been kept. She is now in a better place with her parents where she is free. We love you always and please watch over us. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Family will honor and celebrate her life privately at a later date. To share a memory of Kathleen or leave a special message for her family, please visit the guestbook below.
