Kathleen L. O'Shaughnessy
January 14, 1957 — November 1, 2022
Kathleen L. O'Shaughnessy, age 65, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 1, 2022, following a long battle with cancer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Linquist and Patricia Linquist.
She is survived by her husband John, and brothers Edwin (Diane) Linquist and Mark (Jennifer) Linquist. She is also survived by her three beloved nephews, Garrett (Laura), Cole (Julia), and Blake. And her beloved niece, Patricia.
Kathy was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent her youth in Glenview, Illinois. She graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition. Following an internship at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Illinois, she was employed for 40 years primarily at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield and Advent Health Hospital in Orlando, Florida.
Kathy loved the outdoors and spent as much of her free time as possible outside walking, hiking, kayaking, and swimming. One of her favorite places on Earth was at the beach where she would take long walks, read and swim. She also enjoyed travelling and made several trips to America's National Parks and to Europe.
Her wish was to be cremated and have her inurnment next to her father at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Visitation is Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a memorial service officiated by Pastor Gary Fredricks, starting at 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (Winter Park Chapel).
