Early Saturday morning, January 15th, Kathleen Farina Steinke was called home after a year long battle with Alzheimer's with her loving son by her side.
Kathleen "Kathy" was born on July 21, 1947 in Bellmore, New York. She was the daughter of Florence Ruelius and Michael Farina. Kathy worked for Moody's in New York for the first part of her adult life and then relocated to Florida where she was an office manager at Technologies Management for over 15 years. Before retiring, Kathy worked at Rollins College in the wellness center.
Kathy was a devout Catholic who enjoyed attending mass at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She enjoyed the beautiful Florida sunshine and loved spending time with & dining out with her friends. On a warm afternoon, Kathy could be found sitting outside with her dog Molly in tow, exchanging pleasantries with neighbors and friends. Kathy was also a proud member and former president of the Counsel of Catholic Women (CCW) and volunteered her time to serve the church she loved. She was a kind soul and loved by those who knew her.
Kathy is survived by her son Michael Steinke (Angelica) and sister Mary Cirronella (Charles). She was a proud grandma to Addison and Isabel Steinke and a loving aunt to Kevin and Steven Cirronella. She also leaves behind her beloved and four-legged loyal pal, Molly, who now resides with her son and family.
A funeral for Kathy will be held on Friday, January 28th at 10:30 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church located at 5300 Old Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, FL 32792 followed by a reception/luncheon in the Parish Hall from 12-2.
