Kathleen Sweek

Kathleen M. Sweek of Orlando went to be with the Lord peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Vitas section of Manor Care in Winter Park comforted by her beloved husband, Gordon of 67 years, her son, Stewart, and his wife and daughter, Donna and Juliana. Kathleen is also survived by a daughter, Sheila and son-in-law, Brian of Toronto, Canada, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Kathleen was born on February 28, 1915 in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England to Herbert and Emma Covey. She was the youngest of seven children who all preceded her in death. In 1956, Gordon and Kathleen made the decision to immigrate to Canada, eventually coming to the U.S. in 1957. Gordon was a highly regarded precision optical engineer and Kathleen always stood behind his decisions to move without any reservation. They lived in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Washington State before moving to Orlando upon Gordon's retirement in 1986. Family and friends will commemorate Kathleen's long and wonderful life with a Memorial Services conducted by Vitas Chaplain, Daniel J. Wolf at Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando on Thursday, February 17, 2005 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Vitas Innovative Hospice Care of Orlando.
