Kay Ann Leary,(Roberts), 77, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Valentine's Day, Sunday, February 14, 2021 with her children at her side. She held on for years exhibiting relentless strength and courage for as long as she could.
Kay proudly worked in the aerospace industry for Lockheed Martin (formally known as Martin Marietta) for 23 years before retiring as a microelectronics fabricator, where the focus was on our country's missile defense systems (classified projects included: Copperhead, Patriot, Lantirn, Hellfire, Bunker Buster and Longbow to name a few) as well as fabrication of heat tiles for the space shuttle program for NASA. She was very proud of her important work and her family was so very proud of her.
Kay was known for her phenomenal Southern-style cooking. She could feed an army with her vast holiday dinner spreads which were always such a treat to all that were lucky enough to experience and enjoy them. She had such fun fishing and attending a good old fish fry. She had a passion for Nascar and wrestling. She loved dancing and was a huge fan of country music. Kay exuded Southern hospitality to her family and friends. She always welcomed people into her home with open arms.
Kay was a fiercely devoted and loving mom, grandma, sister and daughter. As well she was a revered friend. She will be dearly missed.
Kay was predeceased by her parents, Coy Monroe Roberts and Alma Roberts; and her brothers, Coy and Charles (Butch) Roberts. Kay is survived by her cherished children, Dana Berisha and Darrell Dwight; granddaughters, Arzana Berisha and Daveena Berisha; brother, Gene Roberts; as well as many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
