Kecia Wells, age 44, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020.
Kecia Wells, along with her identical twin sister Garcia Dailey, was born on January 15th, 1976 to proud parents Delrose Grant and Robert Wright at Cornwall Regional Hospital in St. James, Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Raised by her maternal grandmother Ann-Elizabeth Campbell until the tender age of 12, Kecia, who grew up with her sister, aunts, uncle, and many cousins, loved family from the beginning.
Kecia, following her immigration to the United States to live with her mother and stepfather, Milton Chong, resided in Miami Gardens, Florida. She graduated from Miami Norland Senior High school in 1994 and attended Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, where she was a member of the Youth Choir as a teenager. At Maranatha, her faith and love for God was strengthened.
In 1995, during her college years, she met a young and ambitious engineering student, Wilfred Wells, who also attended Maranatha. After courting for one year, Will proposed to her, and the two were married on August 11th, 1996. Kecia went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and later became a licensed real estate agent while residing there. While in col-lege, she gave birth to two beautiful bundles of joy, Kayla and Isaiah.
In 2002, Kecia moved to Orlando and began her career as a teacher and a real estate agent. In 2004, she gave birth to a special gift, Halle.
During the children's formative years, she fostered a love of Christ in them. The family attended Patmos Chapel where Kecia was actively involved in the church by helping with the Children's Choir, Adventurers Club, and part of the Sabbath cooking crew, which was responsible for preparing and serving lunch to over 200 members on Sabbath.
Kecia always had a passion for helping people whether it was teaching high school or helping people buy or sell their homes as a realtor. But, having higher aspirations, Kecia decided to go back to school for a second Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She graduated near the top of her Nursing class in 2014.
Upon moving back to Orlando, FL, Kecia started working at Advent Health East Hospital, where she was highly respected and loved by all her coworkers and patients. She brought smiles and a pleasant bedside manner to work daily.
Kecia was both a devoted mother and wife. For the past 24 years, she moved all around the United States due to her husband's occupation as a Navy officer. Throughout this time, Kecia and Will have remained steadfast in the Seventh-Day Adventist faith. Kecia enjoyed spending time with her family and going to see her children play sports. Because of her diligence, her children are well-rounded, and they all excel in sports, school, and music.
Kecia passed away at 0430 on February 5th, 2020 leaving behind her loving husband Will, three children, Kayla, Isaiah and Halle, her mom Rose, her father Robert, stepfather Milton, brother Junior, her twin sister Garcia, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous family and friends. May her precious soul rest in perfect peace.
Visitation is Sunday, March 8, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with funeral services starting at 11:00 am at Maranatha SDA Church, 18900 NW 32nd Avenue, Miami Gardens, FL 33056.
