MOAR, KENNETH T., 90, of Winter Park, FL died Aug. 19, 2009 from complications of a long and happy life. Born in Canada, Ken served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in WWII as a pilot, flying Lancaster Bombers out of England. At the end of the war he was the sole survivor of a group of 17 pilots who had gone to England in 1943. Ken moved to Atlanta where he met Lee Andrews, and they were married in Winter Park in 1950 at the home of Ken's sister, Kelly Pflug. He was a member of Asbury Methodist Church for eleven years, where he became a believer in Jesus Christ. Later he became an active member at Orangewood Presbyterian Church in Maitland. Ken was in land real estate for many years, but his real desire was to serve the Lord. In 1984, Ken became a US citizen and was very proud to be able to vote. In 1986 he became involved in the "Man in the Mirror" men's Bible study and continued as a stable leader until 2009. Survivors include his wife, Lee; two daughters, Nancy Pfingsten (Bill), and Marian Armstrong (Ray); grandsons, Ian (Shannon), Matthew, Bradley, Preston Toor (Jen); granddaughters, Lindsey and Lauren Armstrong; great-granddaughter, Isabella Toor. Ken has three sisters and a large extended family in Canada. A memorial service will be held for Ken at Asbury Methodist Church in Maitland, on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in Asbury Fellowship Hall.
