Lang Hong, passed away on Monday, October 8th, 2018, at the age of 75, surrounded by her children.
She was born in Vietnam in 1943 to Chinese Immigrant parents. She was the youngest out of five children, with two sisters and two brothers.
For Lang, family was everything. She always put her children first and foremost, sacrificing so that they could have a better life than she had. She immigrated from Vietnam to the United States with her husband, Tung, and six children, leaving behind her mother, siblings, and many nieces and nephews. A few years after being in the States, she gave birth to her youngest child, Hoa.
She was the consummate hostess, the door was always open to friends and family, with a home cooked meal, made from scratch, no matter how early or late your arrival. She hosted multiple extended family gatherings throughout the year. Cooking feast to feed the masses, which comprised of family and friends. She was not only an amazing self-taught cook, but she also possessed a green thumb. Lang found joy in nurturing the fruits and flowers in her garden. She enjoyed spending time outside in her garden and also visiting gardens. She loved to learn about destinations worldwide, everything from their food and culture to architecture and history. She would enjoy exploring new destinations on foot, walking around and discovering the hidden gems of each city.
She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and knew what mattered most wasn't the material possessions, but the nurtured bonds with family and friends and shared experiences that we will hold dear for the rest of our days. Lang had the biggest heart and will be missed more than can be expressed.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine and Hoa; sons, Thanh, Kim, Dee, Hein, Van; son-in-law, Robert; and grandchildren, Ashley, Dylan, and Kaitlyn.
Her service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 18th, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822. You are welcome to join in remembering and honoring her. A reception will follow, details will be provided at the service.
