Larry Bunner, age 66, of Sanford, passed away peacefully October 17, 2015. Born March 25, 1949 in Indianapolis, Indiana, Larry was a longtime resident of Central Florida.
Larry began his service to his country when he attended Rutherford High School in Panama City, Florida. At the age seventeen he enlisted in the army on November 21, 1967. After basic training at Fort Benning Georgia, Larry attended specialized training to serve in the Army Artillery and the "Escape and Evasion squad". He was immediately sent to the Republic of Vietnam and was assigned to the 1st Field forces South Vietnam 632 field artillery. He served in combat missions near base camp Tuy Hoe and the DMZ.
Larry performed courageously and was awarded several honors including the National Defense Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal W/60 Device, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation with Palm, two OS Bars, the marksman M-14 Ribbon and the M-16 Sharpshooter Ribbon.
Larry will be missed by a host of family and friends who will cherish his memory and his service to his country.
