Laurence Thompson Knott, Jr.

Born May 18, 1934 in Darien, Connecticut, died in peace with family by his side in Orlando, Florida on January 12th. Tom grew up in Kenilworth, Illinois and graduated from New Trier High School. He attended Dartmouth College, was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and the Dragon Society. He graduated with a degree in English in 1957. He spent most of his life in San Francisco working at first for Field Enterprises and went on to find a career in real estate. He loved sports of all kinds and his passion was the care and feeding of roses. He was a true romantic and had a great sense of humor. His parents, Laurence Thompson Knott and Bethany Crowe Knott and his sister, Susanne Knott Komonthouros, precede him in death. He leaves his former wives, Wendy Sullivan Lalanne and Abby Gelles Knott, three children; daughters Elizabeth Ann Gardner and Susanne Truelove and a son, Laurence Thompson Knott, III. In addition he leaves five grandchildren; Wendy and Nicholas Truelove, Lauren and Philip Knott and Gabriella Sophia Gardner.
