Lawrence Bruce Mellott (Larry) died peacefully among family in his home in Lake Mary, Florida on December 31, 2016, at the age of 68.
Larry was born to parents Bruce Mellott and Barbara (Hall) Mellott on June 4, 1948 in Washington, DC. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mellott, sons Christopher Mellott, Patrick Mellott, Andrew Morris and Casey Morris, daughter Catherine Carty, sisters Roberta Miller and Gloria Price, and five grandchildren.
Larry was a very happy and fun man. Always quick with a joke, he was carefree and upbeat. Larry made everyone feel special. He was always so obviously happy to see his friends and family, or even a stranger. His eyes would brighten at the sight of you, and he would enthusiastically say your name and make a playful joke. He was a kind and decent man who truly enjoyed life.
No immediate funeral services are planned. Instead, a memorial service for friends and family will take place in late January, 2017, in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, where his ashes will be scattered per his wishes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Northland Church (Longwood, FL).
