Lawrence "Glen" Yeater, age 88 of Orlando, Florida left this earth to be with the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2015. Glen was a World War II veteran who served his country for 38 years in the Navy. He was on LCI ship #34 and had numerous beach landings. He originated from Parkersburg, WV but has lived in Florida since 1948. He was a beloved man of many talents.
He leaves behind his four sons, Tommy Miller (Debi), Glen Yeater (David), John Yeater (Linda), and David Yeater (Judy); two step-children, Tedra and Scott Walden; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Glen was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois R. Yeater and also his second wife, Barbara C. Yeater.
A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd., Orlando, Florida, 32822. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Limousines will be available after the service to transport anyone who would like to attend the graveside ceremony at Osceola Memory Gardens. VFW Post #4287 will be performing military honors at the cemetery. Lunch will follow after the burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to Vitas Hospice.
