Lawrence Otto Ziebarth
December 24, 1918 - July 29, 2024

Lawrence Otto "Larry" Ziebarth, age 105, of Longwood, FL passed away peacefully on July 29, 2024. Born on Christmas Eve, 1918, on a farm in Nebraska, Larry was the 6th of 8 children of Bertha Lisette Doering and Edward Herman Ziebarth.

Larry supported his country as a farmer throughout World War II before embarking on a successful career as an insurance agent for Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL). On June 13, 1943, he married Erna Lydia Obermeier, with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage until her passing. Together, they raised two children, Carol Ann and Lawrence William.

A man of deep faith, Larry loved his Lord and lived every day with a servant's heart. He was a dedicated husband, loving father, a playful grandfather, and cherished great-grandfather. Larry had a unique ability to lighten the spirits of those around him with his sense of humor, genuine caring nature, and compassionate heart. And if that weren’t enough, he’d serve up some of his famous homemade ice cream!

An outdoor enthusiast, Larry thoroughly enjoyed fishing and spent much of his early retirement traveling with Erna in their beloved Airstream camper. They explored numerous places across the country, often taking their granddaughters along for summer adventures. Larry was also an avid golfer who could frequently be found playing a round with friends on his home course at Rolling Hills. In his last fantastic years as a centenarian, Lawrence sailed on numerous cruises with his son, Larry, including a couple of celebratory family cruises to mark his 99th and 105th birthdays.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Edward; his beloved wife of 55 years, Erna, and second wife Yvonne Keopke, and his siblings Freda (Delvanthal), Martin, August, Emil, Reinhardt, Lillian (Failing), and Arthur. He is survived by his daughter Carol Ann (Graves) Neubauer, son Lawrence William Ziebarth, granddaughters Katrina Louise (Graves) White and Christa Lynn (Graves) Gonzalez, and four great-grandsons: Andrew Dale Gonzalez, Samuel Ryan Gonzalez, Ian Clark White, and Brendan Dale White.

Larry's life was a testament to faith, family, and joy. He now awaits a heavenly reunion with those who mourn his passing. A celebration of Larry's life will be held on Thursday August 1, 2024, at 11:00am at Ascension Lutheran Church- 351 Ascension Dr. Casselberry FL 32707
