Lela Mae Allen, 90 of Ocoee passed away Saturday, August 23, 2008. She was born in Steel, Alabama and moved to West Orange County in 1956. She retired from Roper Growers Packing House in Winter Garden where she worked as a fruit grader. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Allen of Ocoee and Nellie Herbert of Winter Garden; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen in 1986, her son, LeRoy "Pete" Allen in 1944 and her 2 daughters, Louise Allen in 1976 and Barbara Ann Knight in 1997.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 28, 2008 in the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando. Interment will follow at Winter Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 27, 2008.
