Leona Parrish, age 87 of Orlando, passed away on Sunday November 19, 2006. She was born to Eugene Sanders and Halla Morgan on May 28, 1919 in Hazelhurst, Georgia. Mrs. Parrish was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; the Jefferson Davis Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy; and a member of the Southern Dames. She was also active in the Geneology Society of Orange County. Mrs. Parrish was an accomplished seamstress who loved her family, her garden, and was an active member of Winter Garden Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by her two daughters Sandra Kendrick (Ray) and Donna Shearer (Omar) both of Orlando; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; two sisters Grace Wade of Orange County and Betty Bradford of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 1:00PM-2:30PM on Friday November 24, 2006 at Winter Garden Primitive Baptist Church 943 Story Road, Winter Garden. Funeral services will begin at 2:30PM with Elder Glen Blanchard officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Hill Cemetery, Orlo Vista.
