Leslie Lee Nance was born on October 12, 1973 to parents Leo and Nicki Lombard in Rutland, Vermont. Leslie passed away on June 27, 2024 after a multi-year fight with colon cancer at 50 years old.
After graduating from Lake Brantley High School, she went in to earn her bachelor's in Psychology at UCF in Orlando. She maintained good grades the entire time she was in school, being naturally smart and a quick learner, and earned the Dean's list every semester. This degree helped her earn the many HR and benefits management roles she held through her life.
While in college, she went home with a coworker to hang out and met a young man named Bobby Nance. In their first interaction, he had a pet lizard on his head. This was clearly enough to peak Leslie's interest and they started dating a year later.
Leslie and Bob married in 2000 at the Wilson Castle in Proctor, Vermont and went on to have 2 children, Drake (1998) and Devyn (2001).
Leslie was an incredible person known for her humor, kindness, beauty, and ability to stand up for herself and everyone she holds dear.
Words cannot describe how spirited and strong she was even with her multi-year long fight with cancer. During this time she continued to work at her job and anyone who met her had no clue she was in the biggest fight of her life. She remained spirited and happy. She continued to joke around and went many places with her family including: Tarpon Springs, Mead Gardens, Holler Harvest Corn Maze, Wild Florida, MOTE Aquarium, Ren Fair, and more.
Throughout this time her kindness also had no ends, she continued to donate to many charities and planned in advance gifts for her children in case something happened to her before special holidays. Even in her last moments, the thing she cared about was writing her family a letter to let them know she was so glad we were a close family and how proud she is that we would all stand up for each other for anything and that she wants everyone to enjoy their lives with each other. She also mustered the strength to tell us that she did not want us to be sad, but instead to go on living and enjoying each other.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, mother, Nicki, and her 2 children, Drake and Devyn. She is proceeded by her grandfather, Carmine, her father-in-law, Bob, and her father and best friend, Leo who guided her to Heaven.
Leslie's ashes will be spread in the same location her father's were 20 years prior, at the top of a mountain in Vermont to symbolize her freedom and release her to the state she wanted to move back to.
