Leta Faye Weirick

November 3, 1930 — February 25, 2022

Leta Faye Weirick, nee Doolittle, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2022. She was the loving wife to husband, Ronald "Ron" Gene Weirick for 53 years until his death in 2004. Together, they built a life of love and mutual devotion to one another, their children, family, friends and community.

She was born in Watervliet Township, Michigan. She graduated as Valedictorian from Watervliet High School in 1948. She was elected to the Kappa Rho Sigma Honorary Society in Science and Mathematics at WMU through 1951 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.

While attending WMU, she met Ron, the love of her life. They had an instant connection and married March 23, 1951 while he was serving in the USAF. They moved to Roswell, New Mexico where their son, Keith was born at Walker Air Force Base Hospital. They later moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1953. Their daughter, Ronelle was born in 1960.

Leta worked as a chemist at Sohio (Standard Oil of Ohio) supporting Ron earning his Master's degree at Case Institute of Technology and in her later years she earned her Paralegal certification.
As a couple they served their community in many ways including South Euclid Jaycees, City Council, Historical Society, Home Days, parades, and co-founded Safety Town. They also pursued their own free enterprise business. Leta presided over the South Euclid Women's Club. She also served at the Cleveland Business Volunteerism Council and Jewish Family Services.

She treasured fellowship with family and friends through golf, bridge, cribbage, Scrabble, book clubs, luncheons and fishing. (She always caught the largest fish on the family's Georgian Bay trips.)

She held an unwavering faith in God, with a love for His Word, and prayed consistently for her family, friends, and acquaintances. She and Ron regularly served in many roles at church including leading bible study groups, and hosting missionaries and evangelists in their home and supporting them abroad. She and Ron were instrumental in the Christian homeschooling of their grandchildren.

Leta was the loving mother of Keith Edward Weirick (Janice) of Orlando, FL, Ronelle Devera Kruger (Carl) of Deerfield Beach, FL; dear grandmother of Kariti Lenita Barre (Tyler), Dorema Doris Mehalik (Joseph) and Tyler Jeffrey Kruger. She was preceded in death by her parents, Coda D. Doolittle and Ruby S. Doolittle, nee Derby, her two sisters and four brothers.

She was deeply cherished by her family and friends. Memories of her loving presence will continue to bless the many lives she touched. Her faith meant everything to her and even though we miss her we know she is in paradise in heaven!

Leta's final resting place will be alongside her husband at Evergreen Cemetery, Bloomingdale Township, MI and a celebration of her life will be held in the summer.
