Lewis Davis

June 2, 1949 — August 5, 2021

Lewis Davis, 72, entered into the joy of the LORD on August 5, 2021. He was born on June 2, 1949 in Sanford, Florida to the late Joe Davis, Sr. and the late Josie Lloyd. He was also preceded in death by Brother, Johnny Sams and Sister, Willie Mae Sams.

Lewis loved Jesus, his family, westerns, baseball, basketball and especially football. He unwaveringly served as a deacon for over 40 years at Maranatha Pentecostal Church, later named Abundant Life Ministries, until his passing under the leadership of two pastors. He was a man of great faith who believed in the power of prayer. He worked tirelessly for many years in the construction industry as heavy machine operator until he retired in 2011.

He selflessly served the LORD, his family and community with all of his heart. His life is a good example of what the LORD meant when He said that the greatest among you shall be your servant in Matthew 23:11. Many can attest to the fact that Lewis was truly a great man of God with a servant heart.

Lewis was beloved by many and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by Son, Kevin (Wanda) Davis of Sanford, FL; Daughter, Tarazor R. Davis; Son, Michael T. Davis; Son, Cornelius M. (Katrina) Davis; Daughter, Angie L. (Jerome) Johnson; Grandchildren, Imani Sims, Zaria Sims, Johnny Daniels, IV, Kevin Davis, II, Niajha Davis, Aaron Collins, Austin Collins, Cornelius Davis, II, Cortez Davis, Jada Davis, Shankeria Rumph, Jay'vion Davis, Michael T.
