Lillian Elizabeth Gosnell
July 24, 1929 — April 17, 2023
Lillian Elizabeth Gosnell, 93 of Winter Park, Florida, passed away peacefully in her home at Allegro Senior Living on April 17th. She was surrounded by loved ones. She is preceded in death by her husband MS and her three siblings, Clifton Wilson, Pete Wilson, and Dale Proctor, all from North Carolina.
Lillian is survived by daughter Gloria Ward of Winter Park, Florida, sons Jerry Gosnell (Susan) of Orlando, Florida and Kenneth Gosnell (Patricia) of Naples, Florida. Grandchildren Amy Ward of Orlando, Kevin Gosnell of Winter Park, Anna Streif (Nick) of Orlando, Meredith Rozner (David) of Vienna, VA, and Charlie Gosnell of New York City, New York. Great Grandchildren, Janessa Quinones, Marley Du'Say, and Oliver Streif.
Lillian grew up in Old Fort, North Carolina and moved to Florida in 1950. She married MS Gosnell in 1952. They celebrated over 60 years of marriage and raised their three children in Orlando and ultimately retired and moved to Oviedo, Florida.
Lillian worked in the Orange County school system for many years in various roles at Rolling Hills Elementary, and Molly E. Ray Elementary. After retiring, Lillian and MS moved to Oviedo where they lived for over 30 years.
Lillian loved working in her yard and sewing but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She showered everyone with love and attention, and she was always quick to help family and friends with anything they might need. Whether it be hemming a dress, planting flowers or pulling weeds, Lillian was always willing to help get it done!
Her family and friends will celebrate her life with a gathering starting at 12:30pm, followed by a memorial service on Sunday, April 30th, 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3806 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, 32792.
