Lillian Rogers, 82, of Orlando passed away peacefully on October 3,2022. She was born to Cassell and Emily Burgess on February 17,1940 in Fort Meade, Florida.
Lillian was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Taft, Florida. She enjoyed working at the distribution center and helping at the church. She was faithful, dedicated and made it her life's work to serve the Lord.
Lillian met the love of her life at the young age of 17, Earl Dalton Rogers Sr. They got married on June 8, 1957 and enjoyed 43 years together before his passing in 2000. They had 5 beautiful children and they settled in Taft to raise their family. They spent many years fostering young girls and helping them leave terrible situations behind. Both were passionate about helping other people and every chance they got they showed kindness.
Lillian loved her community and spent much time visiting with her friends at the local community center. She enjoyed getting out of the house and playing bingo. Her favorite part though was the conversations she had with her longtime neighbors. She was always talking with someone, never met a stranger. She would spend many hours talking with people over the phone and she never failed to check in with those she loved. She never forgot a birthday, anniversary, or special celebration. She truly had a gift when it came to other people.
She was an incredibly strong woman who faced every challenge head on by relying on her faith. She was in a terrible train accident, dealt with many health obstacles and faced the loss of her husband and two children all while keeping a smile. She never let the trials of life get her down. Instead, she focused on the good things God brought her way. She was steadfast in her beliefs.
She was surpassed in death by her husband Earl, son Perry, daughter Laura, daughter-in-law Kathy and grandson Thomas Abram. She is survived by her sons Earl Dalton Jr and Marion Thomas, daughter Karen Sue (Eddie Dwayne), daughter-in-law Tammy Rogers, grandchildren: Sarah, Zachary, Cheyenne, Samuel, Kelly, Emilie and James. And great grandchildren Gabriel, Willow and Gideon. And all her wonderful church family.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ in Taft, Florida. Located at 9521 6th Ave Orlando, Florida. There will be visitation at 10 am before the start of the service. She will then be reunited with the love of her life at Greenwood Cemetery.
