Linda M. McClain, age 63, of Orlando, FL passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024.
Linda McClain, daughter of the late Johnnie and Luemetter Miller, was born on September 25, 1960 in Eatonville, Florida. She was the second daughter of fifteen children born from this union who many called “Lynn.”
Linda graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, FL. In her early years she specialized in communication. During her tenure at Meres Transportation, she discovered her passion for sales. Recognizing the economic challenges faced by a mother of three, she took on a second job in the retail industry. Her successful sales career at Sprint, Time Warner Cable Co., and Sears provided her with the financial stability to prioritize her family and pursue her career in communication and sales.
Linda placed a high value on education and maintained rigorous standards. She rewarded her children, nieces, and nephews for achieving academic excellence, as grades below a "B" were not acceptable.
In her later years after retiring from communication and sales she found joy in caring for her family which was something that came so naturally to her. She dedicated herself in peace to make sure family was cared for. It was a privilege to observe and learn from her demonstration of unconditional love. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her would undoubtedly express only positive sentiments, as she consistently provided honest feedback, regardless of potential sensitivities.
Linda was a fearless woman of God who faced challenges head-on. She was the backbone of her family, leading with a firm but loving hand. Her cooking was legendary, and her family eagerly anticipated the meals she prepared for Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas each year. Sunday dinners were a special treat when she was in the mood to cook. Linda's talent for decorating was unmatched, often transforming spaces throughout different seasons. She had an unwavering faith that guided her through life. Her most famous quote was “You will get over it.”
Linda departed this life on August 26, 2024. She was preceded in death by parents Johnnie and Luemetter Miller, Orlando, FL, husband Avonia McClain Eatonville, FL, brother Johnnie J. Miller of Leesburg, FL and sister Treva Spears of Orlando, FL.
