Linda Susan Ochs, age 69, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 at her home in Orlando. She was the loving wife of James Ochs.
Linda, born on April 9, 1951 in Richmond Hill, New York, was not only a mother to her children, Sherri, Jamie and Shane, but she was a mother figure to all that walked through her doors. A woman whose compassion for others was trumped only by her love for her family, Linda's home was open to all seeking a meal, or a place to stay, or simply a shoulder to lean on. Time and again, Linda led by example, whether in her miraculous weight loss journey, her multiple bouts with cancer, or with her genuine warmth and love she showed to anyone in need of it.
Linda was the fun wife, mom, grandmother, and friend. Her zest for life was undeniable and contagious, she loved having fun whether it was shopping (boy was she a shopper!), or going out dancing with her children and grandchildren. She loved to have a good time. Linda tried very hard to take good care of herself. If there was a gym or an exercise group, she joined; and let me tell you what, her exercise attire always was on point from head to toe. When she was diagnosed in September, all she was worried about was getting stronger. She had a dream of being a bodybuilder in the next few years, even asking the oncologist if she could still work towards this goal.
Linda also never stopped trying to better herself. She went back to school for her bachelor's degree in business several years ago, and worked at Underhill Animal Hospital for 36 years before she retired. She came out of retirement to help run the curbside from March to September before her knee surgery. Nothing stopped this woman.
Linda was also quite the fashionista and very trendy. She loved getting her hair and nails done, loved her bright colors, and matching her accessories from head to toe. She didn't miss a beat, her nose rings even matched.
Linda was a fighter; the strongest woman many of us have known. And though she lost this battle, she remains a survivor-through her wonderful children, grandchildren, and her husband, Jimmy; and all of the memories she created with the people in her life that she blessed with her presence.
An inspiration to anybody that wishes to be the bright light in someone's day, every day, Linda, we love you. May you watch over and protect us from above as you did while you were on this Earth. MIZPAH
