Liselotte Trimble

December 4, 1926 — February 3, 2023

The Lord called Liselotte (Lee) Trimble Home on Friday, 2/3/23 at the age of 96. She was born in Germany as one of two children and grew up in Hechingen, a small town in the southern part of Germany, famous for the Hohenzollern castle. On a train, she met Henry Trimble, who was a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army and stationed in Germany after WWII. Lee was sponsored by her German Aunt and lived in New York until they got married in Denver, CO. They lived in Texarkana and Maryland until moving to Orlando where all 3 of her children were born - Lorne (Julie), Albert (Kathy) and LeeAnne. She was so proud of her only grandchild, William (Albert and Kathy). When William was young, she looked forward to and cherished visiting and babysitting him. He still remembers playing kickball with her in the hall of her house.

Lee lived a life of intentional and sacrificial service to her family and friends, giving generously of her time and talents to those around her with compassion, patience, and love, making each person feel cared for and cherished. It was in her nature to be there when family/friends/neighbors were in need, some going through cancer, by making meals for them, driving them to doctor's appointments, cleaning, even rubbing their feet. She had a servant's heart through and through.

Lee was a member of Pine Castle United Methodist church and taught Sunday School for many years. Her faith was an integral part of her life and a source of strength and joy. She was an avid reader of books and articles on a variety of topics from faith, health and nutrition, investing, gardening, etc.

Lee had a love for the mountains and was touched by the beauty of God's creation in nature. She loved dogs – her own and others' and enjoyed watching the AKC dog shows on TV. She enjoyed doing yardwork (sometimes too much) in the large lot where she lived for over 50 years. She was a superb seamstress, making clothes for LeeAnne and costumes for her children's school functions/activities. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, baking – especially birthday cakes for all her children's birthday pool parties. Even though Lee wasn't very sporty, she always supported LeeAnne's athletic activities including bike rides/marathons as fundraisers for JDRF and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
One of the things Lee was most proud of was becoming a United States citizen. She had a love of her home country, Germany, and a deep and patriotic love and appreciation of the United States of America. She loved all the patriotic songs along with other classical music and Christian hymns.

Lee positively impacted the lives of those who knew her, even in her last months of life, because of her deep faith in the Lord, compassionate generosity, sense of humor and wit and her heart of endless gratitude. Her legacy, influence and love will live on through her family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be missed dearly, although knowing she is rejoicing in heaven with her Savior and Lord gives great comfort to those of us mourning her loss.
