Lorraine Bienkowski, born May 13, 1951 in Chester, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on July 23, 2018. She was the daughter of Joseph and Helen Restucci Lipka. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bob Bienkowski, her two children, Kyle Bienkowski and Lori Bienkowski, and her dog Hunter, all living in Orlando, FL.
After school, Lorraine worked for the Sun Ship & Dry Dock in Chester, PA, where she provided administrative support to the Manager of Machined Products. Sun Ship had an interesting history, for example, she was involved in the building of the Hughes Glomar Explorer, a CIA initiative which successfully raised the sunken Soviet submarine northwest of Hawaii.
As a young adult she was active in organizing and sponsoring group events such as ski trips to upstate PA and NY, along with roller skating, ice skating, & racquetball parties.
Shortly after getting married during 1982, she moved with her husband to Orlando, FL, where she was intimately involved with her children's upbringing at home, school, and sport activities, along with being a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church Community.
Lorraine was an active force within the neighborhood working on Homeowner's Association tasks, assisting neighbors, and was warmly recognized and enjoyed by all the neighborhood dog walkers. She requested that her illness be kept private to the end.
She will be laid to rest at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Linwood, PA. As to memorial gifts, Lorraine requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral Services will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Oleander Drive, Orlando, on August 4, 2018, @ 10:00.
