Louetta Bell Martin

July 28, 1951 — August 19, 2022

Louetta Reese Bell Martin was born in Richmond, Virginia on July 28, 1951. She was called home to be with Our Lord on August 19, 2022, at 1:41 a.m. at HCA Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford, Florida.

She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized in 1960. Louetta became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church on Bells Road in Richmond, Virginia. While there, she sang in the children's choir, joined the Girl Scouts, attended Vacation Bible School, and participated in Sunday School and other various church activities. She also raised money for children's events within the church.

In 1970, she joined the Saint Peter's Church of Christ in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1990, She joined the Community Church of God and Christ in Richmond, Virginia under the leadership of Dr. David N. Wright.

During her time in Baltimore, Maryland, she attended Morgan State University and the Community College of Baltimore at Liberty Heights in Maryland. She also attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. As a result of her education, she received her degree in nursing in June of 1977 and began her extensive career as a Registered Nurse.

After reading a book about nursing as a child, she decided that would be her career path. Nursing was her passion. She wanted to relieve suffering and bring comfort and peace to her patients. During her nursing career, she worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. In Richmond, she worked at Chippenham Hospital, Saint Mary's Hospital, Instructive Visiting Nurses Association (IVNA), Henrico Doctors' Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and McGuire VA Medical Center, from where she eventually retired before moving to Central Florida in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Deacon Robert Morton Bell, Sr. and Louise Emmaline Taylor Bell, her brother, Robert Morton Bell, Jr., her sister-in-law Ella J. Bell, and her husband, Bishop Robert Lee Martin (1972-1989).

She leaves to celebrate her memory of life two daughters, Tamra Artelia Martin and Cherrie Janelle Martin-Boothe; one son-in-law Damon Eugene Boothe; three nieces, Virnita Bell Carrington, Michelle James-Norman, and Pamela Adams; two nephews Timothy Eaton and Virshon Carrington; cousins Cynthia Hicks-Leeper, Damon Hicks, Marcus and Malcolm Leeper, Eugene and James Elam, LaVern J. Saunders, Diettra Coleman and Dana Fox, Anita Denise Baker, George Henry Taylor III, James Peter Bell, Maryjane Cox, Ann Middleton, Florence Henley, Bobby Henley, George Henley, John Henley, William Henley, and Curtis Jenkins Jr.; one great aunt Mary Ellen Jenkins; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 2 at 7:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - South Seminole Chapel, 335 E. State Road 434, Longwood, FL 32750 with Dr. David N. Wright officiating.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday the funeral home.

Committal will take place in Lake Mary Cemetery on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at 11:00 am, Lake Mary, FL.
