Kaminer, Louis, age 96, a long time resident of Orlando passed away on December 8, 2015. A proud veteran of WW2. Born in Ft. Wayne Indiana, September 29th 1919. He came to Orlando in 1943 with the Army Air Corp. Upon being Honorable Discharged , he established a restaurant in Winter Park. Later he opened the "Coney Island" restaurant on Church Street downtown Orlando. Eventually he opened a chain of restaurants "National Sub Shop". Lou's life included motor home trips with his family to many parts of the U.S.A. He was an accomplished guitarist and organ player. A member of the College Park Baptist Church and especially enjoyed his Sunday School group. He was a beloved father to his four sons: Ron, Jim, Greg and Tom, his grandchildren - Michael, Janie, Jill, Katherine, Jeff, Kimberly, Julie and Gregory. Also 15 great grandchildren. He will remain forever in our hearts. Visitation will be held from 10AM-11AM, Monday, December 14 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Orlando. A funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Diabetes Association
