Louise Thumma Lopez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and retired nurse, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025. Born on August 2, 1948, in Chambersburg, PA, Louise dedicated her life to caring for others.

After graduating from nursing school with an LPN degree with a focus on Geriatrics, Louise worked at the Lancaster hospital, where she met her first husband, Garry. In 1970, she relocated to Orlando, FL, where she continued to build her life and career. Here she welcomed two daughters, Lisa and Michelle

Later in life, Louise met her best friend and love, Roberto Lopez and welcomed stepson Standford to the family. Louise and Roberto shared 30 wonderful years of marriage. Louise was a devoted grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren.

Louise spent four decades in the nursing profession, providing compassionate care to her patients. She didn’t just care for her patients; she cared about them. She got to know them on a personal level, learning about their life and interests. She made them feel special , a blessing for those who may have been experiencing loneliness in their later years. To this day, there is still a photo of her “favorite patient” posted prominently on the refrigerator. Her dedication and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met. 

A spiritual woman, Louise found solace in her faith and handed her fears to the Lord. She had a passion for reading, cooking, and baking, and she had a special interest in owls. Louise's generosity and acceptance of others were extraordinary, and she was known for her deep compassion and caring nature. She had a quick wit and never lost her sense of humor, bringing joy and laughter to those around her.

Tragically, Louise was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle in 2002, which impacted her profoundly.

Louise is survived by her 103-year-old mother, Phyllis Thumma, her loving husband, Roberto, her daughter, Lisa, her stepson, Standford, her cherished grandchildren and a large extended family of beloved cousins, aunts and uncles. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held in her honor at University Seventh Day Adventist Church, 9191 University Blvd, Orlando, FL 32817, on Saturday, March 15th at 3:00 p.m.
