Lt. Col. Charles K. Day, USAF (Ret.), 96, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 in Orlando, FL. He was born on August 17, 1920 in Salem, IL and spent most of his life in St. Louis, MO.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife, Laverne Lois Day (nee Lange), his brother William, and his sister Doris. Charles was a wonderful, loving father and grandfather. Survivors include his children, Diane Day Kolde and Kevin Day (Lucy); grandchildren, Christina Warren and Spencer Day.
Charles will be remembered as an honorable WWII Veteran and a noted survivor of Pearl Harbor. Inurnment with full military honors will take place at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO at a later date.
