Lt. Col. Richard H. Cormier, 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 in Winter Park, FL. Richard was born on April 13, 1928 in Green Bay, WI to parents Howard and Frances Cormier. He graduated from Green Bay's West High School in 1946.
Richard was a decorated pilot in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years serving with distinction in Korea and Vietnam. Early in his USAF career, he met and married the love of his life, Jeannine. With her loving support, he converted to Catholicism and grew in his love for the Lord throughout his life. After his retirement from the Air Force, he flew as a commercial pilot for approximately two years before beginning a second career as an over-the-road, independent trucker.
He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Cormier-Bourn, and many loving friends in Florida, Wisconsin, Maine, and elsewhere around the United States.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 12 noon. He will be interred at Florida National Cemetery next to Jeannine, his beloved wife of 51 years, at a later date.
