Lucia M. Turner, age 79, of Orlando, FL passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019.
Lucia was born on October 20, 1939 in Lihue, Hawaii; daughter to the late Lorenzo and Theresa (Koerte) Manantan. Upon graduating from Kauai High School, she and her twin sister joined the US Army. Upon returning to Kauai, she began her career at the Kauai Surf Hotel and retired from the Banyan Harbor. She enjoyed traveling, singing in the church choir, fishing, and especially gatherings with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Caspersen and her husband, Mike, of Orlando; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Caspersen of Dallas, TX; grandson, Douglas Caspersen and his wife, Chelsi, of San Diego, CA; her twin sister, Pacita Joyce and her husband, Carlton, of Swans Island, ME and her sister Dora Jane Rowell of Zumbrota, MN; her brother William Manantan and his wife, Orpha, of Lihue, HI; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold Wayne Turner, and a sister, Juanita Moises.
Visitation is Monday, September 16, 2019 from 10:00 am to 10:30 am at Encore of Avalon Park, 13798 Cygnus Dr, Orlando, Florida 32828.
Funeral Services with Chaplain Mark Rath officiating will be following the visitation at 10:30 am at Encore of Avalon Park.
Interment with full military honors will be on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims, Florida 32754.
