Luis Ramon Martir, Sr., age 95, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at his home in Orlando. He was the widower of Maria Elisa (Caban) Martir to whom he was married for 64 years.
Luis was born on June 16, 1924 in Las Marias, PR; son of the late Anterino Martir and Juana Valentin. He was a veteran of the United States Army, honorably serving his country from 1945 to 1947. He was a man who loved God passionately, a prayer warrior who was a loving and generous man to his family and friends. He was a passionate photographer who worked as an electronic technician before his retirement to Central Florida.
Luis is survived by his son, Luis Ramon Martir, Jr. and his wife, Miriam; his daughter, Judith Caraballo and her husband, Gilbert; eight grandchildren, Damien Martir and his wife, Rebecca, Michael Paul Martir, Jonathan Martir, Irene Sierra and her husband, Ralph, Alizette Santana and her husband, John, John Perez, Ireliz LeRoy and her husband, Daniel, and Desiree Caraballo and her husband, Jose Barreto; fifteen great-grandchildren, Bradley Venzen, Elijah Martir, Jacob Martir, Michael Martir, Trinity Martir, Isaiah Martir, Faith Martir, Ezekiel Martir, Joshua Santana, Corinne Benjamin, Nathan Sierra, David Sierra, James Perez, Lucas LeRoy, and Sophia LeRoy; five great great-grandchildren, Maximus Perez, Adriana Benjamin, Luca Benjamin, Tristan Perez, and Brandy Perez and brother, Luis Angel Martir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brothers, Manuel Martir, Pedro Israel Martir; and sisters Blanca Lydia Martir, Rosalina Rodriguez and daughter, Maribel Arcelay.
Visitation is Monday, August 12, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.
Funeral Services will be celebrated on Monday evening, August 12, at 7:00 pm and again on Tuesday, August 13 at 10:00 am at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
