Luisa M. Padilla, age 94, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019 at her home in Orlando, FL. She was the widow of Daniel Padilla, Sr.

Luisa was born on October 11, 1924 in Fajardo, PR, daughter of the late Rafael Vazquez and Monserrate Rosado. Luisa moved to the United States in her mid 20s where she met the love of her life, Daniel Padilla. They married for 61 years, until the passing of her beloved Daniel, whom passed in 2013. During the early years the family lived in Newark, New Jersey where they raised their three children, Daniel Jr., Bennett and Beverly. Luisa worked as a healthcare assistant at the St. Rose of Lima Nursing home for several years until retirement. They moved to Puerto Rico after all of the kids were married and had moved out. They lived in Puerto Rico until 2005 when they needed to move to Orlando, Florida to get better health care. They moved in with their daughter, Beverly and her family. There Luisa enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow up for over 15 years. Here she had the opportunity to see her little Davien grow his first three years. She could never fall asleep without having him visit her every single night for a good night kiss and hug.

Living in Orlando, Monsita met made special friends, Barbara, Edna, Natalia, Carmin, and her favorite lady, Xiomara. She bacame the nucleus to the family and living Orlando gave her the opportunity to be close to her son Ben and Fran and their daughters. She loved to have her grandchildren around and having Amanda with her made her very happy.

Luisa, better known as Monsita lived happily with her daughter's family until her last days. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church. A devout Catholic, she had very strong faith and lived a virtuous life. Luisa was loved by everyone that ever came to know her. She devoted her entire life to loving her family unconditionally. She always offered her loving advice to everyone to live a healthy happy life filled with spirituality and God always present in your life's journey.

Luisa is survived by her two son, Daniel Padilla, Jr. and his wife, Ana of Rahway, NJ, and Bennett Padilla and his wife, Frances of Wimauma, FL; her daughter, Beverly Rodriguez and her husband, Jose, of Orlando; eight grandchildren, Erica Padilla, Jessenia Padilla, Daniel Padilla, III, Cynthia Padilla, Amanda Padilla, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez, and Vanessa Rodriguez; five great-grandchildren, Jayden Rodriguez, Alana Zarate, Kaylee Zarate, Eliza Padilla, and Davien Amezquita; and one brother, Oscar Vazquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Rafael Vazquez, Jr., and Wison Vazquez, and her sister, Carmen Julia Vazquez.

Visitation is Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.

A funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 noon at the funeral home.
