Luz I. Velez DeRivera, 88 of Winter Springs passed away Monday, March 10, 2008. She was born in Villalba, Puerto Rico and worked as a Social Worker for the Peace Corps. She was of the Catholic Faith.
She is survived by her daughters, Olga Arce of Winter Springs, FL and Chary Rivera of Orlando, FL; 6 grandchildren and 11 great gandchildren; she was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel, son Miguel "Miguelo", brother Carlos Ramon Fortier and sister Judith Martinez.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 15, 2008 in the Chapel of Newcomer Family Funeral Home, 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, FL 32822. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00-10:00 PM.
