Luz Nereida Velez, age 91, of Oviedo, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
She was born on May 1, 1932 in Lares, PR, daughter to her late parents, Carmelo Velez and Elisa Acevedo. She had a passion for God, teaching, and books. Never met a soul she didn't love.
Luz is survived by her two daughters, Kelly and Miriam; Miriam's husband, Paul; her grandson, Gabriel; four brothers, Poli, Miguel Angel, Efrain, and Miguelito; and a sister, Carmelita.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Taso; and a sister, Emma.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - Winter Park Chapel, 3806 Howell Branch Rd, Winter Park, with Pastor Padilla officiating.
Services will be livestreamed, and can be viewed by clicking here.
Visitation is Wednesday, July 5 preceding the service from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Casselberry, FL.
