Lydia Esther Machuca

Lydia Esther Machuca graciously entered into the open arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Lydia was born on February 2, 1935 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to the late Itanislao Nieves and Juanita Hernandez. She was one of nine children.

She married the love of her life, Isabelo Machuca Cotto and together they raised four daughters.

For the majority of her career, she worked as a seamstress for the garment industry. She has been a longtime resident of Florida coming from Manhattan, NY.

Lydia was predeceased by her brothers, Miguel Nieves and Robert Nieves.

Memories will be cherished by her husband of 64 years, Isabelo Machuca Cotto; daughters, Esther Warren, Hilda Tineo, Migdalia Venegas, and Miriam Melendez; siblings, Ramon Nieves, Elipio Nieves, Jesus Nieves, Efrain Nieves, Juan Nieves and Miriam Bolanos; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Family will receive friends 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm, on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 895 South Goldenrod Road. A Funeral Ceremony will be held 9:30 am - 11:30 am, Monday, July 31, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Road.

Interment will take place at 1PM on Monday, July 31st at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US Highway 1, Mims, FL 32754.
