Lydia Esther Zayas Dejesus
January 16, 1933 — February 19, 2020
Lydia Esther Zayas DeJesus, 87, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020. She was born on January 16, 1933 in Cayey, Puerto Rico.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Zayas and Juana De Jesus. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Gonzalez, Julia Acosta, and Aida Luz Latorre; son, Jose Antonio Gonzalez; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Lydia was a very strong woman, who loved working on the farm and gardening. She will be remembered fondly for singing lullabies to babies. Lydia loved to joke around with her friends and family, sharing smiles and laughs. Towards the end of Lydia's life, she became more affectionate, always ready to share a kiss with those she loved.
Visitation is Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services are Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 7:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - East Orlando), 895 S. Goldenrod Road, Orlando, Florida 32822.
Interment will be on Monday, February 24, 2020 at 11:30 am at Greenwood Cemetery, 1603 Greenwood Street, Orlando, Florida 32801.
