Larry served in the Navy until he was honorably discharged after an injury. He returned to Iowa where he became a delivery driver for Pepsi. He moved to Apopka, Florida about 1966. He got a job at a local grocery store where he met his wife Patricia. After some time of dating, they were married March 29, 1969. They traveled with a carnival before settling down at an apartment complex which Larry was the manager of. He started working with a friend on odd jobs, then got a job at Woodlake Villas as a maintenance man. He later received an electrician degree from Valencia and went to work as Martin Marietta, where he worked for 19 years. After retiring from Martin, he went to work for the County for 5 years.
Being that Christianity ran strong in his family, Larry made sure his kids went to church. First, He and Patricia attended Southview Baptist. Then as the kids grew older, they attended First Baptist Church Orlando. Later He moved his membership to Victory Baptist Church. After Victory changed to a Spanish ministry, he attended a couple other churches before being led to Evangel Assembly of God. He received his certificate of membership on April 16, 2007. He continued to serve God and the church until God had called him home.
