Maggie Lee Johnston

Maggie Lee Johnston, 92 of Orlando, Florida passed away on March 9, 2025.

Maggie was born July 15, 1932 to John William Johnson and Ila Ione Young in Phenix City, AL. Her dad gave all the children nicknames and hers was Skeets.

She married Earl Eugene Johnston on October 6, 1952 and started her life as an Army wife. They were married until his death in 1973.

Maggie worked in the Retail Industry as a General Manager until her retirement in 2006. She had a “green thumb” and her yard always had the prettiest flowers, especially roses and hydrangeas.

Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, husband and in-laws, Earl and Ruth Johnston, 5 brothers and 7 sisters.

She is survived by a son, David Johnston (Lynn); daughter, Joni Wallace (James); grandson, Matthew Johnston (Melissa); granddaughter, Jessica Benfant; great-grandsons, Elijah Johnston, Noah Benfant and Caiden Benfant; great-granddaughter, Olivia Johnston; step-grandsons, Justin and Zac Stowe; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Tyson; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Ann Frith; and several nieces and nephews.

Interment will be at Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
