Hancock, Marcus Eugene "Gene"
December 3, 1924 - February 22, 2007
He was born and raised in Central Florida. He was a Naval veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Orlando & a special pleasure of his was singing in the choir and being a member of the Singing Christmas Trees. For many years he enjoyed fishing, playing cards, raising cattle and dancing. He was a residential painting contractor. He was dedicated to his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Evelyn Janet Hancock. He is survived by his son Jimmy and his wife Rose Hancock of Altamonte Springs, FL, his daughter Pamella & her husband Tommy Denmark of Spanaway, WA and by his son Jeffrey and his wife Marie Hancock of Orlando, FL, and his loving companion Carole Osborn of Maitland, FL. He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He has gone home to be with the Lord but will be honored, loved and remembered always. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Gene to Ray Shands of First Baptist Church of Orlando, FL.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 in Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL. Visitation will be in the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:30 - 1:30 PM.
