Marguerite Jane Marshall

July 1, 1924 — January 17, 2012

Marguerite Jane Jones Marshall, 87

Sanford, Florida

Marguerite peacefully passed on to be with our Lord on Tuesday January 17, 2012 at Gracious Age Assisted Living in Sanford. She escaped her battle with COPD by quietly slipping away in the morning while relaxing in her favorite chair. Marguerite was born in Pixley, California on July 1, 1924 to William Hershel and Leva Ellen Williams Jones. She was the devoted wife to George Andrew Marshall for nearly sixty years when he passed on December 17, 2001. They are survived by their two sons; G. Richard Marshall of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and W. Penn Marshall and his wife Deborah of Orlando, FL. Richard has two sons; Nathan (Cheri) Marshall and John Marshall and two granddaughters; Tarah Marshall and Hope Marshall, all of Detroit, MI. Penn and Deborah have four sons and three daughters; Andy Marshall (Deceased), Dean Marshall of Orlando, FL; Ginny Marshall of College Park, FL; Deah (Geoff) Goodman of West Palm Beach, FL; Adam (Jessie) Marshall of Geneva, FL; Brian (Michelle) Frink of Clermont, FL; Erin (Blake) Rosen of Singapore; and eight grandchildren, Katie Marshall, Orlando, FL; Hunter and Hannah Frink, Clermont FL; Geoffrey and Gia Goodman, West Palm Beach, FL; and Mallory, Paxton, and Harlow Rosen of Singapore.

Marguerite had two sisters and two brothers that have preceded her in Heaven; Mary Bittie Simmons, Wanda Houchens, Lester Jones and Clifton Jones all of Glasgow, KY. She is survived by one brother Rev. Bill Jones and his wife Dottie of Gallatin, TN. She had eight nephews and eleven nieces.

Marguerite was affectionately known as Aunt Margie to her nieces and nephews; Marty to her friends of Northville, MI; and Nana to her grandchildren. Many of her friends and family have gone on before her and are waiting at the Pearly Gates to welcome her, just as she'll be there to welcome us.

Marguerite lived in California, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia, and Florida. A devoted Christian, she served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, missionary leader, and prayer warrior. In the work force she worked as a farmer, retail sales person, factory worker, credit union teller, loan officer, apartment manager, and receptionist.

Marguerite has requested that in lieu of flowers all donations be made to a ministry that is close to her heart, Sierra Leone. This ministry is multifaceted with the JESUS Film, an eye hospital, national evangelists, pastors, teachers all spreading God's good Word and rejoicing in it. Please make checks payable to:
Trevecca Community Church, memo: Jones/Sierra Leone.
