King, Maria A. (nee Senese) age 54, died April 13, 2009 after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 15, 1954. Predeceased by her father, Robert A. Senese, and Sam, her beloved cat. Maria leaves behind her mother, Marguerite (Larry) Senese-Kapelinski, Chicago Ridge, IL; sons, Brandon King of Tallahassee, FL and Larry (Alyson) King,cherished grandson, LJ King, Roswell, GA; brother, Robert Senese, Chicago Ridge, IL; sister Anita Goeppner and niece, Amanda Goeppner, Tinley Park, IL; sister Laurie Senese, Orlando, FL and nephew Jack (Wendy) Mills, Groveland, FL; companion Dennis Uhler, Jacksonville, FL; and Boots, the cat.
Maria was so proud of Larry and Brandon. She especially adored spending time with her grandson, LJ.
She loved collecting crafts, music boxes,and Christmas ornaments. Every Christmas, she gave her sons their own special ornament - just from mom. Maria also enjoyed traveling and cruising with her good friend and companion, Dennis. Their Alaskan trip was especially memorable for her.
Maria earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. For 13 years, she was devoted to teaching her students at Forest Park elementary school (Boynton Beach, FL) and George Washington Carver elementary school (Jacksonville, FL).
Arrangements for her graveside service on Monday, April 20, 2009, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Alsip, IL, (708) 422-3020 are entrusted to Lawn Funeral Home, Burbank, IL (708) 636-2320.
