Maria Luisa Lopez

Maria Luisa Lopez, age 87, of Saint Cloud, FL passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

She was born on July 7, 1936 in Caguas, PR, daughter to her late parents, Cristino Lopez and Francisca Hernandez. A resilient woman hailing from Puerto Rico, her journey led her through Manhattan, Connecticut, and Florida where she dedicated her life to raising two strong boys. Maria found joy in the laughter of her precious grandchildren, Miles, Stephanie, and Mia.

A diligent and sweet soul, Maria was cherished as a Mama, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and friend by all who crossed her path. Her legacy resonates with hard work, kindness, and a heart brimming with love touching the lives of all who she met.

In her final moments, Mama showed us this strength until her final breath. As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, let us remember her with gratitude for the love she shared and the indelible mark she left on our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace.

Maria is survived by her son, Alex Lopez, and his wife, Carmelita Casillas; grandchildren, Miles Casillas, Stephanie Lopez, Mia Torres, Luis Ruiz, Carmen Ruiz, and Jose Melendez; a brother, Justin Lopez; and a brother-in-law, Hiram Betancourt.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Oscar Torres; and two sisters, Angelina Lopez, and Maxima Betancourt.

Funeral Services and visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – East Orlando Chapel, 895 S. Goldenrod Rd, Orlando.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
