Dona Maria-Luisa Perez de La Torre was born on the 9th of August 1930 in Toledo Castilla de La Mancha Spain to her parents Don Dario Perez Revilla and her mother Dona Maria de Los Dolores 'Gloria' Pérez De la Torre she was the second of six children.

Marisa as she was commonly known survived the Spanish Civil due to the hard headedness of her mother.

In 1958 she left Spain looking for a better life and went to stay with her sister Maruja who was living in England at the time with her husband Robert Gallone.

Soon after she applied to study as nurse at the Royal College of Nursing in Hitchin Hertfordshire, she would have graduated with her class in 64 when she got pregnant with her son, she finally managed to complete the course at the end of 64 1965 she started her training as a Midwife at the college of Midwives in Luton Bedfordshire and before completing her training she was offered a position in Bedford Bedfordshire working as a Community Midwife, where she would work until she retired after 30plus years of service.

In 1989 her only son Samuel joined the US Air Force while in England and for her once again it was a tough time as she would be alone after many years.

Over the years she would visit her son in the US and he would also visit England until they made the decision in her early eighties to move to the US permanently after a fall she had during early summer of 2012 and there she would remain to her last days

Marisa was a tough lady as she had to struggle raising her son by herself and the stigma that came with it plus working a full time job as well and that was not an easy job in those days. Even into her late eighties she still wanted to do things by herself without help or anyone's permission and she fought until her last breath as she felt she had more todo and take care off whether it was her plants, house, and even giving sage advice to mothers and their babies as she never stopped being a Midwife or a mother.

She leaves behind her only surviving sister Maria I Rodriguez of Naples Florida, her cousins in Spain, her only son Samuel Soto Tsgt USAF retired his wife Jerly L Soto, several nieces and nephews and as well as grand nieces and nephews, Along with dear friends from England,Spain, Singapore and Florida as she touched many lives during her time her with us.

She will be greatly missed and loved by all who knew her.
