Maria Mills Greenfield
April 21, 1964-January 19, 2017
Maria Mills Greenfield went home to be with her Lord and Savior early in the morning of January 19, 2017. She died peacefully in her sleep after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Maria was a servant. She loved worshipping Jesus at Church Together in Casselberry, FL. Maria will be remembered for making even the newest members of the congregation feel welcome, giving hugs and handing out the weekly church bulletins. Maria also worked as a caregiver and loved her patients dearly. It was her passion to love and serve people in need.
Maria was an activist. She championed and saw the legalization of medical marijuana in Florida. She was also an autism activist, serving as a volunteer with the Altamonte Springs Special Needs Recreation department.
Maria's biggest passions were driving her W9 big truck, reading poems about the American people, and studying her Bible.
Maria's legacy will best be remembered through 2 Timothy 4:7. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
She is survived by her loving husband Fred Greenfield Sr; her father and stepmother David and Peggy Mills; brother Mike Yates; sons Frederick Jr. and Ryan Powell; her daughters Jessica and Jerrica Greenfield, and Kelsie Martin; a grandson, Christian Greenfield , Granddaughter Elyssa Raborn; and her sister in Christ, Sonja Willett. She is also preceded in death by her Mother Patricia Frye Mills.
Visitation will be Tuesday January 24, 2017 from 5-8. Maria's life and courageous battle will be celebrated with a memorial service on Wednesday 25, 2017 at the Newcomer Funeral Home. Her body will be transported to her hometown of Asheboro, NC where she will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Cemetery.
