Maria Rivera passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on January 5, 2020 in Florida at the age of 101.
Maria was born on April 5, 1918 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Domingo Rivera and Victoria Robles. Maria had seven siblings, five children, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-eight great-grandchildren and thirty great-great-grandchildren. She lived a humble and content life, loved the Lord, her family and her friends. Her first and last task of the day was to praise God and pray for all those she knew. She was a very generous, strong, independent, feisty woman with a great sense of humor. Her laugh was like no other. She loved to dance and took pride in her well-kept appearance. Her favorite color was red and she displayed it well/often on her lips and nails. During her lasts days she was surrounded by family and friends until the Lord called her home. We will all miss her. Our strength and comfort comes from knowing she was at peace with God through salvation in Jesus Christ. His promise to us is eternal life in Heaven and one day we will be together again.
