María Vélez, 82, of Orlando, Florida passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2020. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico on January 6, 1938.
María is preceded in death by her son, Luis Vélez; her parents, Juan González Martínez and Francisca González Rodríguez; and her sister, Lydia. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Carlos Vélez; adored children, Raymond Vélez, Carmen Lydia Vélez, Carlos Vélez, Jr., Nelson Vélez, Lillian Bowman-Sánchez, Ivette Vélez, and Roberto Vélez; and cherished grandchildren, Carmen Sands, Sonia González, Norberto González, Ángel González, Jennifer Quizhpi, George Quizhpi, Joel Quizhpi, Jonathan Vélez, Amanda Bowman, Miranda Bowman, Justin Vélez, Nelson Vélez, Jr., and Marilyn Vélez. María was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Alicia, Aida, and Bacilisa; and brothers, Reinaldo, Juancito, and Jesús.
Private services will be held by the family.
