Marianne D. Pirino, age 68, died peacefully Thursday morning, March 5, at her home, following a lengthy illness. Born in Hazleton, PA, she was the daughter of Frederick T. and Mary S. Dran. Marianne grew up in Buttonwood, PA and attended Wilkes College for a period of two years .She raised three children with her former husband, Dr. Raymond J. Pirino. She was a long-time member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Orlando.
Marianne's kitchen was the hub of her household and she delighted in preparing new recipes and "tried and true" favorites for family and friends. Each of her five grandchildren can recall time in Grandma's kitchen preparing food and decorating Ukrainian Easter eggs during Lent. A gifted seamstress, one of Marianne's greatest joys was crafting wonderful Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Marianne was Girl Scout leader of Junior Troop #50 from 1969-1975 and served on the Citrus Council for many years.
She is survived by her children, Richard Allen Pirino and his wife, Lorraine, of Wyomissing, PA, daughter, Leigh Ann and her husband, Peter, of Reading, PA, and son James Paul and his wife, Joy of Orlando. Surviving grandchildren include: Caitlin Alexandra Rye, Nathan Richard Pirino, Oliver Pedersen Rye, Jacob West Pirino, and Megan Holland Pirino. Marianne's surviving sisters include: Gloria Elston of Salt Lake City, UT, and Barbara Stanski, of Nanticoke, PA.

Funeral services, Tuesday,March 10, 10 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 1515 S. Semoran Blvd., Orlando.
