Scovic-Ryder, Marie "Mitzi"
Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 27, 2006.
She was born on May 14, 1928 in Hartford, CT and moved to Johnstown, NY as a young child. Mitzi had fond memories of her years in Johnstown which included being a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Bicycle Club, dancing at Sherman's, Caroga Lake, NY, Mothers' Club (bow your head), "Duty" golf, her numerous friends and relatives and it was the place where her five "wonderful" children were born.
In 1976, Mitzi and family moved to Orlando, Florida. While in Orlando, she was employed for two years by Skyline Restaurant and 16 years by Xpedx from which she retired in 1998.
Mitzi touched many peoples' lives and was known for her great smile, her poems for any and all occasions, sweet treats and her effervescent drive for living life to its fullest. On most Wednesday and Friday nights you could find her dancing the night away at the Marks Senior Center in Downtown Orlando continuing what she called her "Senior Dancing Career". When you get the choice to sit it out or dance….do as Mitzi did and dance.
Mitzi was preceded in death by her parents Arch & Marie Baum; husband Richard J Scovic; 2nd husband Almond Ryder; brother William Baum; son Richard J Scovic, Jr.
She is survived by her companion Flavius (Lee) Hadsock and her four "wonderful" daughters:
Kathy (Chuck) Berghorn, Lake Placid, NY
Janet (Ron Dorr) Scovic, Orlando, FL
Patti (Joey) Susko, Altamonte Springs, FL
Jeanne (Scott) Jackson, Altamonte Springs, FL
Daughter-in-law:
